A Few Words About Shasta-Trinity Schools Insurance Group
Shasta-Trinity Schools Insurance Group (STSIG) provides Health, Dental, Vision and Workers Compensation coverage to 41 school districts in Northern California. STSIG has been providing quality programs to the education community for over 30 years and is governed by the district members. All STSIG programs are self-funded, which removes the insurance carrier profit margins. In addition, STSIG is provided with a higher level of flexibility than "off the shelf" insurance programs, a direct benefit to school district employees.

Health Care Reform Update
On March 23 President Obama signed the health care reform bill intended to extend coverage for over 32 million uninsured Americans. While it is too early to tell the extent of the impact on existing programs, it is important to note that unlike the single-payer approach, the new law relies heavily on existing programs, both private and public as part of the long term solution. Additional details of the recently signed law is available on the news section of this website.
